They completed our home in the Fall of 2022. The timeline is an important factor because building during this time proved to be extraordinarily challenging for many reasons (supply chain delays, etc.) and yet they still got it done ahead of schedule. They handle everything with honesty, professionalism, and open communication. When problems arise, they are quick to address them and do whatever it takes to correct them.
The team managed our build, like the pros they are, with ease. We felt like they were working on the project with us, not for us. The family feeling is palpable. They sincerely care. My husband and I built our custom home with Aspen Homes in 2024. We have about a dozen years in the home building industry in Washington, which we knew would serve us well in this experience.
I enjoyed the process of developing our house plans with Erik and was impressed with his ability to come up with a realistic budget for our dream home. We worked with Brian during the lot excavation, foundation, framing, roofing, plumbing, wiring, insulation and drywall. Some work took longer than we liked, but we have the perspective to understand these delays from a builder’s point of view.
The building process was transparent to us with Erik sending us monthly draw requests backed up with the subcontractors’ invoices and with up-to-date budget vs. actual costs. Aspen Homes works with top-notch subcontractors and I’m so happy with my masonry, fireplaces, windows, doors, cabinets, lighting, plumbing, quartz, tile, hardwood, carpet and woodwork! It takes a lot of time and effort to build a house, but if you know what you want, Aspen will build you a beautiful home!

We recently completed the construction of a second home in the Aspen Homes, Cedar Creek Development in Coeur d’Alene. Aspen represented an approximate 7 months construction schedule. We started in the spring, March 2019 and received our Certificate of Occupancy October 2, 2019. We do not live in the Coeur d’Alene area and really appreciated the consistent communication and attention to detail. Their Buildertrend site provided all our project information (ie…progress photos, updated construction schedule, change orders and design selections. Special thanks to Erik Campbell, Jessica Frakes and Bryan Dever. They never tired of our constant inquiries.
I am in the commercial development industry and have to compliment the quality of work provided by their subcontractors. Our final walk-through had minimal correction items. We really had to look! I also want to compliment Erin St. Michelle at Lake Forest Design. Between her and Jessica Frakes, our interior & exterior finish selections came out better than I could have imagined. They truly have an eye for style. I made numerous request of Bryan that were clearly outside the scope of Aspen Homes responsibility. He accommodated every request. Aspen Homes made us feel more like a friend than a client.

We moved into our newly-finished Aspen home in June, 2023. It seems like we comment weekly about "What a great idea ___ was!" and "What a great job they did on ___!". There was no idea that Aspen (Bryan, project manager) didn't execute with enthusiasm and with quality of result. Respect, courtesy and quality starts at the top in Aspen and continues throughout their long list of sub-contractors from designing and installing our wine cellar stairs to installation of finishes to painting and finish carpentry. We literally feel blessed every day that we chose Aspen to build our home!
My wife and I selected Aspen Homes to build our dream house on Lake CDA. We met with several local builders, but Aspen had the strongest strategy to manage our project which is on a steep and narrow hill location. All others wanted to shrink the garage and pull the house back, but we didn’t want that.
From the start, Bryan and Matt set out a detailed schedule for basically a one-year project. We finished within two weeks of that target. Building projects have many challenges, and the Aspen team was phenomenal at establishing recovery plans to offset hurdles experienced during the process and keep the project on schedule.
The Aspen team has very high standards for overall quality and attention to detail. They effectively manage a team of subcontractors that are professional with top tier results. Our home site is in a small neighborhood, and we truly appreciated the ongoing efforts to minimize the impact that the project had on our neighbors.
We’re thrilled with the finished product!! We have a house that is structurally sound and very aesthetically appealing. We value working with the Aspen Team, and they fulfilled the definition of a true construction partnership. They earned our highest recommendation.

My husband and I have owned a piece of property that we consider our own little slice of heaven for the last 5 years. Naturally, when you have your slice of heaven the only logical thing to do is build your dream home. After much thought and deliberation and interviewing different builders in the area we decided on Aspen Homes to do our build.
The main reason we went with Aspen Homes was because of Bryan Dever. He listened to all of of our wants and needs and paid attention to all of the details while the plans were being drawn ( about 5 times) never getting frustrated with us. He took the time to come up to our property on the weekends…in the rain.. snow and mud. Never did we feel like we were an inconvenience or we were taking up too much of his time.
Once the build was officially under way he checked in DAILY..always answered our text messages within minutes and kept us in the loop about everything. From the framers, the painters, siding guys, tile guys ,plumbers , electricians flooring guys , trim and doors it was an absolutely PERFECT experience.
I also need to mention that Ryan (superintendent) was just as great as Bryan. I sometimes called him 10 times a day and he always answered his phone, never seeming to mind that I called on a Saturday or a Sunday. He was actually my hero because we were able to move in a week earlier than anticipated. I think he could see my mental breakdown coming ( because we basically camped for 6 months) so he made sure that everything was buttoned up a bit early! Both of these men we now can call our friends, they were exceptional.
It goes without saying that Jessica is the girl to go to for help with colors, lighting and anything else you just aren’t quite sure about when picking out interior or exterior things…she has such great style!
Todd and Zetta Stam really have nailed it with choosing wonderful, relatable employees who obviously take great pride and ownership in their work. If you happen to be on the fence of who to choose to build your custom home, look no further, Aspen Homes is simply the BEST.
